Copying Block Layouts and Page Layouts

Scenario: You’d like to copy a block layout from one of your existing pages, or even copy an entire page.

Solution A – Copying a block layout:

  1. You can copy & paste between pages in the block editor.
  2. Start by opening the page editor for the page you want to copy from.
  3. Then click and drag over the section you’d like to copy, once it’s highlighted press Ctrl + C to copy the blocks.
  4. Then go over to the page you’d like to paste into, click into the section you’d like to paste into and press Ctrl + V 1Tip: Add a new empty section by clicking the on the block toolbar, and clicking Add After
  5. If you have any trouble selecting the blocks, you can also use the breadcrumbs at the bottom of the editor, click in the section you want to copy and use the breadcrumbs to navigate up the hierarchy until you’ve selected enough of the blocks.

Solution B – Copying an entire page:

To copy an entire page, go to the page in question, then find the item titled “Copy to a new draft” in the page publish settings panel. See WordPress Editor Basics for more on how to find that panel.
