1. Finding The BLocksy Page Settings

When you are editing a post or page, you’ll find the Blocksy Page Settings by clicking this icon on the top-right toolbar:

2. Post TItle

This option allows you to customize or disable the page title. On most pages this is the text / image that appears at the very top of your page – and is derived from the Title, Excerpt, and Featured Image of your page or post.

When you first open this tab you’ll see three choices:

  • Inherit – Use the default settings that are used site-wide. Making the post title of this page look like every other page.
  • Custom – Customize the settings.
  • Disabled – Disable the title entirely, this can be helpful for building your own custom title using the Block Editor.1If you disable the title and build your own, it is best practice to include a Heading block with the page title as high as possible on the page with the heading level set to H1.

Custom Choice

If you choose the “Custom” choice then more options will appear:

  • Type – The type of header, you get a choice of header designs.
  • Elements – Which elements to show, such as the title, excerpt, metadata, breadcrumbs, and more.
  • Horizontal Alignment – Whether to align the title to the left, center, or right.
  • Container Bottom Spacing – How much space to add below the title.
  • Design
    • Title Font
    • Meta Font
    • Excerpt Font

NOTE: If you’re making choices that here that you would actually like to apply site-wide, you can go to the Appearance -> Customizer then find the post type you’re working on, e.g. Page, Post, Calendar, etc. and edit a similar set of settings.

3. Post Structure

This section provides ways to change the layout of the page overall, for example making the content area narrow (good for blog posts), or adding sidebars (which are controlled by Appearance -> Widgets).

4. Content Area Style Source

This section provides a choice to make the content area -where your blocks and text live- either wide with no box around it, or to add a box behind it to separate it from the background color.

5. Content Area Vertical Spacing

This section is helpful for building custom headers and hero sections (see our note above regarding disabling the title) as you can remove vertical space on the top or bottom to allow an image or element to sit right against the navigation bar.

6. Post Elements

This section provides convenience features for disabling special elements around the content.

  • Disable Featured Image
  • Disable Post Tags
  • Disable Share Box
  • Disable Author Box
  • Disable Posts Navigation

7. Page Elements

This section provides convenience features for disabling elements around the post title, content, and special features.

  • Disable Related Posts
  • Disable Top Header
  • Disable Bottom Footer
